PROJECT: MENTAL HEALTH COVER ILLUSTRATION
CLIENT: TODAY'S PHARMACIST / SPREAD THE WORD MEDIA LTD

Today’s Pharmacist is a quarterly magazine for pharmacists (unsurprisingly!). Mailed directly to independent and multiple retail pharmacies across the UK, and also available as a digital version. The magazine is part of the Good Health Suite, published by Spread the Word Media.

OBJECTIVE

To create a cover illustration for Today’s Pharmacist magazine which reflected the central theme of the lead article, focussed on the mental health and wellbeing of pharmacy professionals.

To relate the subject of mental health to pharmacy my concept for the illustration used the idea of a molecular structure to connect and pull together hand drawn lettering of the various aspects referred to in the article.

This was my initial sketch, and mock-up of the full cover with the masthead and space left for headline text, for approval by the client before working up as final artwork - Who knew that pharmacists don’t generally wear white coats?

The digital issue of the magazine can be found here.
