PROJECT: 10th BIRTHDAY CARD ILLUSTRATION
CLIENT: WEST OF ENGLAND DESIGN FORUM (WEDF)

The West of England Design Forum was formed in Bristol in 2006 by a small bunch of passionate designers and design industry people who wanted to create a place for designers, and those interested in design, to come together, share ideas, be inspired and get connected. WEDF have built a strong reputation for scheduling inspiring talks by brilliant designers, and great training by people who know our industry, and in doing so help to grow a dynamic, connected and thriving local design community.

OBJECTIVE

To create a birthday card design, which would become 1 in a set of 10 cards, each by a different designer/illustrator to be specially printed on a range of different paper stocks and given out to all guests at the WEDF 10th birthday party.

I chose to combine my interest in bikes and hand-drawn lettering to create 'Birthday Bike Messenger'

The various elements in the illustration were originally hand drawn and then scanned in to the computer, where I pieced them together, tidied things up and added colour.
