PROJECT: COACHING JOURNEY ROUTE MAP
CLIENT: BRING TO FRUITION

Bring to Fruition Coaching is a new executive coaching business, founded by Rachel Tyrrell, specialising in career transition, work/life balance, leading through - and dealing with - change.

Rachel’s approach to coaching draws on somatic training and body awareness, encouraging individuals to look at how their mind and body reacts to change, upheaval and repeating patterns and what this can tell them. Creative improvisation-based techniques are also used to help clients become more comfortable thinking on their feet, where needed.

OBJECTIVE

Rachel approached me to create a set of illustrations which could be used individually or combined together to create a route map of the coaching journey.

It was important that the illustrations would reflect Rachel’s coaching style and be engaging on a personal level, with an over-arching sense of support, reassurance, excitement, movement/progression and the feeling of being uplifted.

Directives for the visual style included the words: nature, calming, creative, simple, elegant and fun. Also an additional steer to try to work in a theme relating to the bearing of fruit - being relevant to the company name Bring to Fruition, and also the idea of cultivating and working towards an individual’s goals, whatever they perceive them to be.

Coaching Journey Route Map (Click to enlarge)

The route map intentionally shows a non-linear journey. The route through is unlikely to be exactly the same for different individuals, and there is scope to do things in a different order and revisit particular stages if needed.

The individual stages of the journey were created as separate stand-alone illustrations so that they may be used individually for blog and social media posts.

PROCESS

I think it’s always interesting to show the initial sketches created at the start of a project. These are what I showed for feedback/approval before continuing to work up the final illustrations. In this instance there were only a few minor tweaks made to the original sketches…

CLIENT FEEDBACK

“ These illustrations are an important part in being able to express myself  - showing clients the possibilities of what they can achieve through coaching, and as I get started with my business, the themes feel very personal to me in terms of how I am practicing as a coach. Thank you so very much for the care you’ve taken in establishing the brief, all your clear instructions and most importantly the absolutely beautiful illustrations you have produced – I won’t hesitate to recommend you to others.”
