PROJECT: GARDEN DESIGN JOURNAL, SUSTAINABLE/ENVIRONMENTAL FEATURE
CLIENT: JAMES PEMBROKE MEDIA

Garden Design Journal is a stunning garden design trade publication for members of the Society of Garden Designers created by James Pembroke Media

OBJECTIVE

To create a set of illustrations - one half-page illustration and 3 spot illustrations to accompany an article about garden designers working in a sustainable, environment-friendly way.

I was given an outline of the case studies that were to be included in the feature and asked to reflect some of the various eco-focussed ideas and approaches in my illustrations.

After I’d completed the project, the client let me know the illustrations had worked really with the article and asked if they could re-licence them for the cover of the magazine - see below…

CLIENT FEEDBACK

“The illustrations look really great Carys and we are delighted with how it worked out! The editorial panel at the Society of Garden Designers jumped at the chance to do something a bit different to the usual for us and your illustrations captured the complex nature of the topic perfectly. “
