Two illustrations: a young woman sitting on a park bench reading a copy of Nonesuch magazine, and a colourful scene featuring Mumbai's famous arch by the river

Project

Nonesuch Magazine

Client

University of Bristol / Steers McGillan Eves

Vision

To keep connected and share stories of Bristol's brilliant people – alumni, researchers and students

Nonesuch is the yearly magazine for alumni and friends of the University of Bristol.

I was commissioned to create the illustrations for the summer 2026 edition, specifically the magazine’s regular ‘Bristol in 10’ feature, a roundup of news from the university and the city of Bristol.

The magazine is designed by Steers McGillan Eves, and available in print as well as online.

The consistent illustration style and colour palette help pull together the various stories within the feature, and relate to the following:

👉 A celebration of environmentalist and alumnus, Dr Tony Juniper CBE

👉 Marking 150 years of university life in Bristol

👉 Bristol’s first transnational campus set to open in Mumbai in September

👉 10 years of the Sanctuary Scholarship

👉 Engaging with Bristol’s Alumni and friends
