Illustration style
The style is intentionally simplified and clear to make it easy to understand.
The resource could be used for lessons in both primary and secondary schools (Key Stages 1-4), so it was important for the illustration not to feel too childish or cartoony, and for it to be engaging for wide ranging age groups.
Process
Below: My initial sketch. Not much changed between this and the final piece, except from simplifying a few things – for example, a few less arrows and fewer lines on the sun rays.
